When working with Dot Alison on Afterglow, I had the great pleasure of meeting  and working with Hal David (Burt Bacharach's lyricist, whom Dot had contacted and persuaded to come out of retirement to  write a lyric for Did I Imagine You? a beautiful song about paternal bereavement. What are charming, modest, humble and immaculately dressed  gentleman he was.
