A stunning 1999 film adaptation of Pushkin's classic. To capture the icy yet conflicted soul of Russian literature's great anti-hero, I recorded with Russian gypsy musicians Loyko, and introduced the public to the maudlin sound of the duduk, played by Armenian legend Djivan Gasparyan. Orchestra recorded at Angel Studios London with the London Session Orchestra.
