I was invited to produce the musical numbers  or the Opera themed 2001 MTV awards at the Lincoln Center NYC presided over by event host Jamie Foxx who was to wear his best faux operatic hat for the opening number in a soundclash with my protégé string quarted Bond. Jamie was charming and professional but working through the mediation of his 'entourage' was often stifling and awkward. Great sunny party weekend in NYC. I Left for the UK on the Monday and the next day, 9/11, the world changed for ever and New York has never and will never feel the same again.
