A former member of the Special Forces, John Mercer is also a convicted killer. Recruited by a retired police officer who runs an unofficial crime-fighting force, he is released from prison and becomes, in his own words, "a hit man for the state." Lenny Douglas offered him a new life and a new job. Mercer's new job is to take care of things when top criminals slip through the justice system. His team is rounded out by a petty thief he met while in prison and a disgraced former police officer.Andrew Buchan played the bucholic and  troubled hitman knbown as 'The Fixer'. The show ran for two seasons on ITV.
